The Golden Mile is returning to Stowmarket on Saturday 2nd September 2017 for its fourth year following the huge success of the inaugural race in 2014 to celebrate the anniversary of first 4 minute mile set by Roger Bannister. Competitors came from all over the county and beyond, the oldest 85 and the youngest just three - who took up the challenge of completing one mile.

Hosted by Stowmarket Striders and sponsored by Suffolk County Council, Muntons, and Stowmarket Town Council, last year saw 261 men, women and children take to the streets with one goal in mind - to complete just one mile as fast as possible.

This year we have expanded the race capacity to 300 entrants. Advance entry online only - sorry no entries on the day.

Entry Fee only £3.00

Junior Stowmarket Striders free entry - please see Junior Coaches for details
