EACCL Race Director
As a Club Race Director, Mike is our East Anglian Cross Country Race Director. Organising one of our Club races is no mean feat and amongst other items, includes the following: Writing and obtaining permission to hold races as required (i.e. local council, police, land owner, etc), advising and obtaining the necessary permits from the appropriate sport affiliation, including the race details, risk assessment, arranging the appropriate facilities on the race day to include toilets, changing facilities, refreshments, and signage. Ensuring that the race has the appropriate number of marshals in the right place.

Julia Simpson
Half Marathon Race Director
As a Club Race Director Julia is responsible for overseeing, planning and organising our Stowmarket Half Marathon. Organising one of our Club races is no mean feat and amongst other items, includes the following: Writing and obtaining permission to hold races as required (i.e. local council, police, land owner, etc), advising and obtaining the necessary permits from the appropriate sport affiliation, including the race details, risk assessment and course accuracy. Liaising with sponsors, overseeing race marketing and race entry data, arranging the appropriate facilities on the race day to include toilets, changing facilities, refreshments, water stops, and signage. Ensuring that the race has the appropriate number of marshals in the right place. Record timings and results of races together with the procurement and presentation of runner trophies/mementos.

David Field
Triathlon Representative
David represents the interests of our Triathletes and Tri coaches within the club. He his also a qualified Triathlon and Swim coach.

Trail Runs Coordinator
Mike coordinates the summer trail runs that are held on Wednesday evenings. This involves recruiting volunteers to host each run and organising the presentation evening at the end of the series. He is assisted by Bob Reason.

Club Records Manager
Our Club records are managed by Chris Seymour who tirelessly trawls the internet for results. If you would like to challenge a record you’ll need to submit evidence of time, approximate date, age of runner, event and year. You will need to have been a fully paid member or Stowmarket Striders at the time of the race and the race must have been a measured race. Examples for 5k can include park runs and club championships. Challenges to be submitted direct to Chris Seymour at clubrecords@stowmarketstriders.org.uk for ratification.
