To all those Striders who currently hold a Club Record – we salute, congratulate and celebrate you here.

Details of current record holders can be found below. Our Club records are managed by Chris Seymour who tirelessly trawls the internet for results. If you would like to challenge a record you’ll need to submit evidence of time, approximate date, age of runner, event and year. You will need to have been a fully paid member or Stowmarket Striders at the time of the race and the race must have been a measured race. Examples for 5k can include park runs and club championships. Challenges to be submitted direct to Chris Seymour at clubrecords@stowmarketstriders.org.uk for ratification.
Latest Records – May 2026 – Womens Records – Mens Records
Several club records were updated this spring, with standout performances from two of the club’s female veteran athletes.
At the Essex 20 in March, Juliet Garnham (V50) set a new 20‑mile club record, running 2:37:43, edging one second off her own previous mark.
Juliet followed this with a new half‑marathon club record at the Berlin Half Marathon, where her time of 1:36:09 improved on the long‑standing record of 1:37:55, set by Hayley Suttle at Cambridge in 2015.
Her good form continued into April at the Boston Marathon, where she ran 3:30:11, lowering her own club marathon record from Berlin 2024 by 3 minutes 29 seconds.
There was also a notable performance from Jo Stephenson (V60) at the Manchester Marathon. Jo recorded 3:41:40, taking 8 minutes 22 seconds off her previous club marathon record set at Chester last year.

Frank has now completed a clean sweep of all V75+ club records, securing the final one at Beyton during last month’s popular Tarpley 20. The V75+ age category may have been introduced with Frank in mind, but it’s open to any male Strider aged 75 or over he’s simply doing an excellent job of setting the benchmark.
He’s also been busy improving his 5k record, lowering it to 24:57 at Felixstowe parkrun last month. That knocks 13 seconds off his previous best from September 2024 at Chilton Fields great running Frank.
Meanwhile, Jo Stephenson continues her impressive progress through the Ladies V60 records. At Beyton she ran 2:51:09, taking a remarkable 18 minutes 48 seconds off Wendy Hughes’ 2020 time a fantastic achievement and another standout performance from Jo.
She then followed this with another club record at the recent Cambridge Half Marathon, clocking 1:45:12 and taking just over 11 minutes off Charlotte Hawes’ 2023 time at the same event.
