OUR LAST FRIDAY FIVE WAS ON 26th JUNE 2026

The Stowmarket Striders Friday Five starts and finishes in the beautiful Haughley Park with a route that also takes in quiet country roads around the park. The first half mile is through the park then the route heads out onto lovely local roads to enjoy a bit of scenic countryside before looping back in the main entrance for a park finish.
This route is scenic, run on quiet country lanes and predominately flat with a couple of short inclines in the last mile and a downhill sprint across the park to the finish.
As the first half mile is off-road the road the race is classified is multi-terrain and has been accurately measured using GPS and measuring wheel. The race is chip timed and is run under UKA rules.
Race numbers and chips can be collected from 5:30pm. Please complete the medical information required on the back of your race number. Do not fold, cut or mutilate you race number in any way.
The five mile race starts at 7.30pm
Open to club and non-club runners, prizes will be awarded after each race to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall, plus 1st place in each age category:
- Female age categories: U20F, FSen (20-39), F40, F45, F50, F55, F60, F65, F70+
- Male age categories: U20M, MSen (20-39), M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70+
- Runners who finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd overall and also win their age category, will receive both awards.
(minimum age requirement 15 years)
In 2026 all finishers of the senior race recieved a technical T-shirt.

Junior Races
Junior Race: On line entry is £6. On the night entry is also available.
The junior races wase leg 5 of the Friday Five Junior Race Series.
The races are open to affiliated and non-affiliated runners.
The races will also be chip timed and every finisher will receive a memento.
The following age categories will apply: Year 4 and below, Years 5 & 6, Years 7 & 8, Years 9 & 10 – Male and Female.
Year 4 runners will run over a 1k course, years 5 and above will run a 2k course.
The 1k race starts at 6.50pm and the 2k race starts at 7.00pm
Age categories will be based on School Year to ensure that competitors remain in the same category throughout the series.
School Year 4 and below – Competitors who are aged 8 or under on 31st August prior to the commencement of the series
School Years 5 & 6 – Competitors who are aged 9 or 10 on 31st August prior to the commencement of the series
School Years 7 & 8 – Competitors who are aged 11 or 12 on 31st August prior to the commencement of the series
School Years 9 & 10 – Competitors who are aged 13 or 14 on 31st August prior to the commencement of the series
