Next Friday 26th May is the first event in the Friday 5 series.  There will be a minute’s silence before the start of this event as a mark of respect to Ben Jacobs who sadly passed away last week following a bicycle accident at Great Bentley on Wednesday evening.  Ben was a popular local runner who enjoyed many local events and was a regular at our club races.  He will be greatly missed, our condolences are with his family, friends and members of Felixstowe Road Runners.

For those new to the club the Friday 5 is a popular series of 6 open races, with each one approximately 5 miles in length (Seniors). Held on Friday evenings between May and July, across Suffolk and Essex, the races are always family friendly and are a great way to spend a summer’s evening.   Details of dates and venues are shown below.  Entry for both Juniors and Seniors is open and can be accessed via the following links:-

Entry is £15 for Seniors (£13 with UKA discount) & £4 for Juniors (no discount available).

Place awards are presented at each event but to score in the overall series you need to have competed in 4 of 6 races, if you compete in more than 4 your best 4 scores will go to make your final result, this is the same for both Juniors and Seniors.
